CCHC board members discuss hospital project with county board

Cloud County Health Center board members Phil Gilliland, Kurt Kocher and Tom Tuggle and CCHC CEO Jim Wahlmeier attended Cloud County Commissioner's meeting Monday and talked with commissioners about the proposed hospital project.
Gilliland suggested that a study session be held by representatives of the city, county, hospital board and bond counsel to review project information.
In other business, the board reviewed the only proposal received for the employee Christmas dinner. Commissioners approved accepting the proposal submitted by Larry Doyen, Texas Red's Catering, at $8 per plate. The dinner will be Monday, Dec. 17.
Justin Murdock, Solid Waste director reported that two loads of cardboard had been shipped from the Recycling Center last week. To date 377 tons of recyclables have been shipped in 2012.
Murdock also discussed the promotional video that the Kansas Department of Health and Environment helped produce that is now on You Tube promoting Cloud County recycling.
The board received a call from Judge Kim Cudney, District Judge 12th Judicial District concerning liability insurance coverage for JJA/DOC. The board will allow them to continue their coverage under the county's policy through the end of June 2013, which will allow them time to include the estimated premium amount in the JJA/DOC grant application and budget.
Commissioners reporting on meetings attended last week were Gail Engle, ITC meeting in Miltonvale, Dec. 4; and Johnita Crawford, Pawnee Mental Health board meeting in Clay Center, Dec. 4.
In other matters the board
—approved department payrolls totaling $171,267.97.
—approved signing a letter of support for the Concordia Senior Citizens Center in applying to KDOT for assistance for its van.
—conducted a five-minute executive session, requested by highway administrator Andy Asch with Asch, county attorney Robert Walsh and county clerk Linda Bogart.
—approved a right-of-way use permit for Rosemary Yonally for a buried waterline at 2490 Fawn Road.
—visited with Gary Reynolds about funding to CloudCorp and the services it provides Cloud County.
