Commissioners approve hauling contract

 Cloud County board of commissioners Monday approved a $4 per load increase and signing the 2014 solid waste hauling contract with Owen Trucking which will raise the hauling cost from $322 per load to $326.
In other business, highway administrator Andy Asch presented a joint waterway use permit for Janet Snavely for a waterway located 1/4 mile south of Quail Road on the west side of 130th Road which the board approved.
The board also approved signing an agreement between Cloud County, KDOT and BNSF Railroad for Project #15 X-2834-01 for the placement of lights and cross arms at the intersection of Quail Road and the railroad tracks approximately 1200' west of the southeast corner 2-6-3 (Brick Plant Road).
In other matters the board
•recognized the resignation of Jack Tyler effective Nov. 15
•heard a report from Health administrator Diana Gering that the walk-in flu shot clinic went well
•visited with Larry Eubanks, Emergency Preparedness Director about various items.
Commissioners reported on attending the following meetings:
Gary Caspers, owners meeting Nov. 13; canvass Nov. 14; and participated in the KWORCC Teleconference Nov. 14.
Johnita Crawford, owners meeting and intergovernmental meeting Nov. 13.
Gail Engle, owners meeting and intergovernmental meeting, Nov. 13; canvass, Nov. 14; and KNCK Coffeetime, Nov. 15.
Adjournment was at 11 a.m.
