Scam warning—Concordia residents are reporting scam claiming to be from Dish Network offering discount rates. These calls are generated by a group that is not affiliated with Dish Network. They are attempting to steal credit card numbers. If you receive a call from someone claiming to be with Dish Network offering you a new rate, please hang up and call the company back directly to verify that the offer is real.
 Also reported in the area is an ongoing scam involving local residents getting calls claiming to be from their grandchildren who are incarcerated in another country and need bail money. These scam artists are very intelligent and are able to extract information from the victims and use it against them to make a very believable story. They are very convincing. Please be aware that this scam has been prevalent in the area and we have received multiple reports of this occurring.
