Two file for commission seats

The filing deadline for two positions on the Concordia City Commission expired Tuesday at noon, and only two people will be vying for those seats. The two positions are currently held by Tim Parker and Lyle Pounds.
Parker and Pounds, who are both finishing their first three-year terms on the Commission, both filed for reelection to the Commission. No other candidate filed, so there will be no need for a primary election. The general election is scheduled for Tues., April 1.
Three positions will also be up for election on the Miltonvale City Council. The seats are currently held by Michael Hamel, Damon Warkentin and Brian Yonally. All three have chosen to seek reelection, and will be unopposed in the the April 1 general election.
