DEIDRA K. BLACKWELL


 Deidra K. Blackwell, age 66, died Friday, June 7, 2013, at Via Christi Village, Hays, Kan., after a long illness.  She was born on Sept. 16, 1946, in Concordia, Kan., to Charles E. & Tyra (Lahodny) Herink.  She grew up in Clyde, Kan., and graduated from Clyde High School in 1966.  She married Carroll Blackwell on July 27, 1963.  She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Wildeman & husband Terry, of Lawrence; and Heather Blackwell, Sacramento, Calif.; three grandchildren, Morgan, Ashley & Garrett Wildeman, of Lawrence; brother, Jim Herink & wife Janice, Manhattan; nieces and nephews, Cheryl Williamsen and husband Paul and their son, Michael, all of Rossmoor, Calif., and Scott Herink and wife Chris, Topeka, and their daughters, Katharina and Anna.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
  A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, with the Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating.  Burial of the cremains will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Clyde, following the services.  Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the Church.  The family suggest memorials to the family’s choice to be designated later, in care of Chaput Mortuary, Clyde.  For online condolences, please visit www.chaputbuoy.com.
