FLOYD C. DEMANETT
Floyd C. Demanett, 87, formerly of Hutchinson, died Oct. 2, 2012, at Via Christi, St. Francis, Wichita.
He was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Aurora, Kan., the son of Charles and Rosa Bliss Demanett. He was a graduate of Concordia High School and Salt City Business College. He worked for Banker's Investment Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1980. He also had worked for Cary Salt for a year and a half. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Elks #453, Moose Lodge #981, American Legion Post 68, Voiture Locale No. 324 40/8 and the VFW. He served in the United States Marine Corps for two years. On Jan. 4, 1948, he married Iola Johnson in Hutchinson. She died Feb. 26, 2010.
Survivors include Jo Smith, Wichita; three grandchildren and two grandsons. He is preceded by a granddaughter.
Visitation will be held from 1-9 p.m., Thursday, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. Cremation will follow. Memorial services are at 2 p.m., Friday, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Private family inurnment will take place at Fairlawn Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, the American Legion or 40/8, all in care of the funeral home.
