LORETTA FRANCES "FRAN" REGNIER
Loretta Frances "Fran" Regnier, age 75, of Concordia, Kan., died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Republic County Hospital. She was born Aug. 7, 1938, at Beloit, Kan., to Albert and Emma (Wagner) McCollough.
Fran married Leroy L. Regnier Nov. 9, 1957, in Beloit, Kan. They made their home in Concordia. She worked in the Food Service at Concordia High School for 27 years. The kids knew her as the "lunch lady."
Loretta always doted on her grandkids and great-grandkids, often making them root beer floats after school. Nieces and nephews always called her "Aunt Frany." She was a devoted wife, mom, aunt, grandmother and faithful loving friend. Fran loved to garden, play horseshoes, go fishing and hunting with Leroy and her sons. She was often found shingling or doing other hard work right along with her family. Loretta and Leroy often enjoyed roller skating and were a graceful sight to watch. Fran loved to bowl—earning a state championship title. She also did lots of crafts. In her younger years, she was an accomplished musician, playing the violin and clarinet and singing since childhood. A fond memory includes all the aunts and uncles, all musicians, filling the home with wonderful gospel and holiday tunes.
Fran is survived by her husband Leroy of the home; sons: Randy (Joni), McPherson, Kan.; Ronny (friend Tina), Linwood, Kan.; Scott and Michael, both of Concordia; grandchildren: Ryan, Paige, Nathan, Neil, Devon, Kayln, Clarrissa, Mikel; great-grandchildren: Zane Morris, Emma Regnier, Kiana and Kaziah Regnier; Sparky the dog.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jim and George; and one sister, Shirley Grimm.
The family have chosen cremation. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Nutter Mortuary Chapel from 2-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m.
