 MELBA JUNE GEISLER
 Melba June Geisler, 89, Rockport, Texas, died July 17, 2013.
 She was born Jan. 24, 1924, to Perry and Reva Chartier on the Chartier homestead near Ames, Kan. Melba graduated from Concordia High School with the class of 1942. She started working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. soon after. She advanced quickly to the position of chief operator and retired after 35 years of service.
 At age 18, Melba married Alvin Gray. They were blessed with a daughter, Nina June. Alvin died of cancer in 1965.
 Melba and Ken Geisler were united in marriage in 1967 at Concordia, Kan. They had resided in Rockport, Texas since 1989.
 Melba was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Sidney Chartier, 11 brothers- and sisters-in-law.
 She is survived by her husband Ken; her daughter, Nina (Leonard) Robinson of Hutchinson, Kan.; a stepson, Kenneth (Tina) of Topeka; a sister, Berna (Art) Gable of Salina; grandsons, Dr. Kory Jackson (Amanda) of Hutchinson and Michael Jackson (Brittany) of Olathe; stepgranddaughters, Kelly and Samantha Geisler  of Topeka; five great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Anita Chartier of Concordia, Louise Pretty of Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Lincoln Geisler of Seattle, Wash.; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
 Melba had a very outgoing personality and loved to entertain. She will be sadly missed by many. Cremation was chosen. A private memorial was held in Rockport, Texas.
