 PRESTON RAYMOND DETTERLINE
 Preston Raymond Detterline, 75, Sun City, Ariz., died Feb. 2, 2014, at Boswell Hospital surrounded by family. He was  born Feb. 8, 1938, in Coatesville, Pa., to Preston and Rebecca (Gibason) Detterline. Ray grew up in Pennsylvania and joined the U.S. Air Force. He later settled in California where he raised his family. When he retired, he moved to Sun City. In his spare time Ray enjoyed bowling, basketball, and time with his family. He had a great love for children, especially his son, daughters and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brothers, Laverne, William Thomas and James Detterline, his daughter, Ruthanne Detterline and son Jimmy Ray Detterline. 
 Survivors include his loving and caring wife Rose Wood-Detterline, Sun City; three daughters, Rebecca Ricci of Sun City, Donna James and husband Mark of Concordia, Kan., and Dori Stefani and husband Joe of Scotts Valley, Calif.; 13 grandchildren: Michael and Laura Ricci, Megan and Matthew James, Linsey (Michael) Adams, Abby (Tim) Cooper, Kieran (Cassie) Wurtz, Robert Stefani, Steven (Ashley) Stefani, Tiffany (Jimmy) Detterline, Jonathan Horn, Chris and Noel Detterline; and nine great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, William, Olivia Adams; Shea, Sevy, Jersey Wurtz, Haven Wichman, Cadence Stefani and Seth Winstead.
  A memorial service celebrating Ray's life was held Feb. 7 at Holy Cross Catholic Mortuary in Avondale, Ariz. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association, 102 W. McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85003. Online condolences may be made at www.obits.azcentral.com. Arrangements were by Holy Cross Catholic Mortuary.
