RICHARD J. COLLINS SR.
Richard J. Collins Sr., age 81 of Concordia and formerly of Meeker, Colo., died Oct. 16, 2013, at his home in Concordia. He was born in rural Cloud County on Oct. 26, 1931, the son of James R. Collins and Bertha M. (Ruud) Collins. Richard served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On Oct. 9, 1965, he married Mary Anne Desilet.
Survivors: wife of 48 years: Mary Anne Collins of the home, Concordia; three sons: R.J. Collins of Concordia, Kan., Clinton Collins and wife Desi of Tacoma, Wash., and Justin Collins of Meeker, Colo.; two daughters, Cathy Collins of Meeker, Colo., and Candy Collins of Rangely, Colo.; two brothers, Ted Collins and wife Nancy of Concordia, Kan., and Norman Collins and wife Wanda of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two sisters, Mary Johnson of Salina, Kan., and Elaine Collins of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; seven grandchildren: Casey, Drew, Tony, Austin, Bella, Kynzie and Finn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother-in-law and one niece.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Nutter Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, 1-8 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Meadowlark Hospice or V.A. Home Based Health Care.
