Richard R. "Dick" Thoman, 81, of Channelview, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013. Richard was born in Concordia, Kan., to Richard Thoman and Allvine Worley.
Richard lived in the Houston area for 20 years and worked as a truck driver in the transportation industry. He also served his country and was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Joyce Thoman, sons, Neal and Mark Thoman and mother, Allvine Worley.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Grinnell, Dallas, Texas; sons, Loren Thoman (Ruth), San Antonio, Texas; Kelly Thoman (Susie), San Antonio, Texas; Troy Thoman, Dallas, Texas and family friend, Myrtle Elaine Oliver.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013, at Sterling White Funeral Home, Highlands, Texas. A second visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m., Monday, March 18, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, at the Glasco Cemetery, Glasco, Kan., with the Rev. Dean R. Frazier officiating and military honors conducted by American Legion Post #76 and VFW Post #588.
