RONALD M. "RON" WINTERS
Ronald M. "Ron" Winters, 76, of New Cambria, passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2013. He was born June 20, 1937, in Concordia, the son of Mark and Mable (Mitchell) Winters. Ron worked as a crane operator and mechanic for several construction companies including Pavers, Inc. and Reece Construction Co. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors and attending tractor pulls and plow days.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Mable; stepmother, Wilma Winters; daughter, Vonda Shiffeld; brother, Dave Winters, stepbrother, Richard Revell.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Carolyn; five children, Kathy Noble, Cindy Payne and husband Sam, Brad Cyr and wife Kathie, Brent Cyr and Barb Beaver and husband Bob; two brothers, Cliff Winters and wife Sandy, and Nick Winters and friend Becky Bean; one stepbrother, Marvin Revell and wife Doma; brother-in-law, Jerry Robertson and wife Jackie; two stepsisters, Doris Goodwin and Phyllis Sandman and husband Bruce; mother-in-law, Beulah Shroyer; special aunt, Mildred Wrenn; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Village Bible Church, 1301 Osage, Salina. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Monday, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th, where the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Village Bible Church.
