WARREN DALE BIEL

WARREN DALE BIEL
Warren Dale Biel, 80, Wichita, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013.
Our dad, Warren D. Biel, was born March 26, 1933, in Herington, Kan. He was the youngest child of Hilda and the Rev. Walter Biel. He graduated from Linn High School where he played football, basketball and even track. His love for basketball took him to K-State and the meeting of our mom, Carolyn. They were united in marriage on June 27, 1954, by the Rev. Biel. Warren was a social worker for the state of Kansas. Warren and Carolyn shared the love of travel. Dad also enjoyed hunting and fishing . . . anything to do with the great outdoors.
Left behind to celebrate his life are his children, Kent and Kim, along with Kent's wife, Lori, and her sons John and Jared Ahrens, and John's wife, LeighAnne, and their children Gavin and Macyn, all from Topeka. Kim's family includes husband David Brown from Rose Hill, Kan., and their children Eric Brown of Virginia Beach, Va., and Staci Hunt and her husband Willie, and her son, Skyler Brown, from Wichita, Kan.
Warren lost his battle with cancer. Mom and Dad are in heaven dancing together. Dad has found his hunting fields and Mom has found her craft. We find comfort in knowing they are together again.
Funeral service will be at 12 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Wichita, Kan. Inurnment will be at 12 p.m., July 13, 2013, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kan. Downing & Lahey Mortuary East. Share tributes online at www.dlwichita.com.
