Alstom Power Inc., Concordia, recognized its 1000th work day without a last time accident on Wednesday.
The 1000th day was achieved on May 7, and Alstom Global management, with corporate representatives from all over the world, were at the plant Wednesday to help celebrate the achievement.
The day of recognition featured several safety demonstrations including electrical safety by Prairie Land Electric, a vehicle rollover simulator presented by the Kansas Highway Patrol and a safe hunting laser simulation by the Kansas Wildlife and Parks.
There were various industrial vendors on hand to demonstrate new technologies.
A steak meal was served to the employees and guests.
Alstom’s goal is a work environment with zero accidents in all of its manufacturing, office locations and construction sites throughout the world.
The Concordia facility recently earned ISO 14001 environmental certification from Lords of London, a standard of excellence in the industry.
