CCCC competes in Border Challenge

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA. — The Cloud County Community College track team picked up six first place finishes in the Border War Challenge here last weekend.
The track meet features community college teams from Iowa  competing in a dual style meet against community college teams from Kansas.
The host school Iowa Western was joined by Iowa Central and North Iowa.
Cloud County was joined by Cowley College and Barton County to make up the Kansas squad.
Cloud County’s George Gathuru won the men’s 5000 meter run with a time of 15:36.
Isaac Miller won the men’s javelin with a throw of 171’6” and Dakota Weber posted a personal best 158’10” in the discus throw to win the event.
Weber was also third in the hammer throw at 151’5” and fourth in the shot put at 47’2”.
Josh Charles was second in the 400 meters with a time of 48.64: Denroy Ottey was third at 49.03.
Cloud County’s 4x400 relay team was third with a time of 3:18.30.
Dwight Davidson was fourth in the discus with a throw of 162’10”.
David Hall cleared 6’6” to place fifth in the high jump.
Shilo Goracke was sixth in the 800 with a time of 1:58.73.
Tameca Wallace won the women’s triple jump with a jump of 38’11” and placed second in the long jump with a jump of 17’9 3/4”.
Chioma Agwunobi won the long jump with a jump of 18’3” and placed second in the triple jump at 38’ 3/4”.
Anna Linton won the shot put with a throw of 43’2 1/2”.
Brenda Barnett was second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.4.
LeRia Jenrette was second in the discus at 131’9”.
Cloud County’s 4x100 relay team of Wallace , Agwunobi, Barnett and Ilesha Boyles was third in 48.69 seconds.
Jenrette was fourth in the shot put at 37.11 1/2”
Alani Dodd was fifth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.8.
Boyles placed fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 26.54.
Kaitlyn Orr was sixth in the 500 meter run in 21:10.45 and Boyles was sixth in the 100 meter dash at 12.97.
