CCCC gets two wins at Pratt

PRATT, Kan.– The Cloud County baseball team opened the series with a big offensive output and solid pitching, securing a 10-2 win over the Pratt Beavers in game one here on Saturday.
The T-Birds lost the second game 13-3 on Saturday and won 9-2 on Sunday.
Cloud County struck early in game one scoring four first inning runs.
Jackson Cain walked with two out in the top of the first and later scored on a passed ball.  Jesse Rall followed with a single.
Cal Zagurski singled and Roger Diaz drove in two runs with a single.
Chase Reibenspies singled home Diaz with the fourth run of the inning.
Pratt answered with two runs in the bottom of the first.
The T-Birds added one run in the fifth to push the lead to 5-2.
Four more runs in the sixth gave Cloud County a 9-2 lead.
Kody Cox opened the inning with a single and Jordan Brown reached on an error.
Cain reached on an error driving in a run and Brown scored on a passed ball.
A single by Zagurski scored two more.
The T-Birds added the final run on an RBI single by Austin White in the seventh.
Caleb Blumer pitched all seven innings for Cloud County allowing just two runs on eight hits, he struck out three and walked one.
The T-Birds didn't fair as well in game two, getting just three runs on seven hits.
Cloud County got one in the first as White led off the game with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly by Cain.
The Beavers knotted the game at one with a run in the bottom of the first.
Pratt added four in the third and one in the fourth to take a 6-1 lead.
The T-Birds scored one run in the sixth. Rall doubled and scored on a single by Diaz.
Pratt scored seven runs in the seventh to take a 13-2 lead.
Cox singled to start the eighth and scored on a groundout by Zagurski.
Zach DeMars pitched the first two and two thirds innings for the T-Birds allowing five runs on eight hits, he struck out two.
Steven Federau pitched three and two thirds innings giving up two runs on five hits he walked three and struck out four.
Taylor Keller went two thirds of an inning for Cloud County giving up five runs on three hits, and Mikabe Erdman allowed one run on two hits.
The T-Birds lost the first game on Sunday by forfeit but rebounded with a 9-2 win in game two.
Rall drove in two runs in the top of the first to get things started for the T-Birds.
Another run in the third and three in the fourth gave Cloud County a 6-0 lead.
Brown reached base on a bunt single to start the fourth.
Brown stole second and scored on a single by JD Peterson.
Rall drove in another run and scored later on a wild pitch.
Reibenspies was hit by a pitch to plate the fourth run.
The Beavers scored one in the bottom of the fourth and one in the sixth to make the score 6-2.
The T-Birds got another run in the eighth when Rall singled and scored on a single by Reibenspies.
Two more in the ninth gave the T-Birds the 9-2 win.
White walked to lead off the ninth and scored on a wild pitch.
Cain walked with one out  and later scored on a single by Diaz.
Rall had three hits and drove in three runs in the game.
Trevor Rinne pitched the first seven innings for Cloud County allowing two runs on five hits, he walked two and struckout four.
Matt Forsythe pitched the final two innings allowing no runs on one hit, he struckout two.
The T-Birds will be back in action with a doubleheader at Southeast Community College on Wednesday.
