Concordia High School chess team placed first in its division, winning five of seven matches at the Chess Tournament Invitational Easter weekend in Chicago.
This was a team tournament where participants squared off against other teams from around the U.S. and Russia. Placing first on individual boards were: Braden Johnson, board 1; Logan Whitney, board 2; Siri McGuire, board 4. Rachel Hasch earned second on board 3.
The students also had the opportunity to tour downtown Chicago.
