Cloud County board of commissioners approved two agreements presented by Andy Asch, highway administrator.
One was a utility agreement with AT&T for buried cable from Key Road and U.S. Highway 81 east to 145th Road, south two miles to Iron Road, east to 150th Road then south to the intersection of Highway 24 and 150th Road.
The other agreement was with Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks for a buried 18" pumping line across 30th Road approximately 1/4 mile north of Vale Road.
Asch reported the sealing projects proposed for this year are: 40th Road from Highway 9 to west of Glasco (Jamestown-Glasco Road); 90th Road from Highway 24 to the county line (Delphos blacktop) and 120th Road from Highway 24 to the county line.
In other highway department business, commissioners viewed the Courthouse south parking lot with Asch and Troy Shepard, maintenance manager. They asked Asch to estimate the cost of proposed repairs and report back next week.
The Board approved payment of the following invoices on behalf of the Public Building Commission: City of Concordia, $125,000; City of Concordia, $6,509.05; Zahner Hansen Construction Group, $295,226; and Goldberg Group Architects, $6,476.07.
Diana Gering, health administrator, discussed the need for another part-time Home Health Aide/Homemaker.
In other matters, the Board
•approved increasing the mileage reimbursement rate to 56 cents per mile, effective July 1, to match the amount allowed by the Kansas Department of Administration.
•approved allowing the chairman to sign the Emergency Management Performance Grant application with the Kansas Division of Emergency Management.
•received the 2014 budget request for dispatch services in the amount of $120,000, an increase of $20,000 from Concordia City Manager Larry Uri.
In the afternoon, the Board attended a meeting with District Judge Kim Cudney and elected officials from Jewell, Lincoln, Mitchell, Republic and Washington counties to discuss the concealed carry legislation and how it affects county facilities, courtrooms and offices related to court operations.
