Cloud County board of commissioners Monday conducted its monthly meeting with department heads.
County officials gave these reports:
EXTENSION agent Pat Gerhardt reported she is conducting child care provider training and her office has begun preparing for the Cloud County Fair.
CLERK of DISTRICT COURT LeaDawn Throckmorton reported her department is waiting for installation of a new server to be completed and employees are using the Highway Patrol electronic ticketing system and it is working well. She also discussed proposed legislation that will affect the courts.
HIGHWAY administrator Andy Asch reported the spraying season will be starting for the Weed Department.
MAINTENANCE manager Troy Shepard reported his employees have been completing routine maintenance projects.
IT director Jerry Collins reported the new county web-site has been up for approximately one month. He discussed the new CIC inventory program and reported there have been several problems with computer viruses within the last month.
APPRAISER Barry Porter discussed proposed legislation and how it could affect the county.
SOLID WASTE director Justin Murdock reported his department is working on plans for the secondary containment for the above ground fuel and oil tanks; more than 100 tons of recyclables have been shipped so far this year and employees will try to concrete the loading dock at the Recycling Center this year.
HEALTH administrator Diana Gering reported that Friday, April 12, is Kindergarten Roundup and her department will be preparing for kindergarten immunizations. She is waiting to hear from the State about the grant funding for the next year.
COUNTY CLERK Linda Bogart reported her office is finishing work on the City/ School Election.
During open session, Asch reported he is waiting on quotes for chemical prices which are to be returned to him by April 19 and discussed several road projects that are being planned.
Asch and commissioners Gail Engle and Gary Caspers reported they attended the NCK County Highway Officials Association meeting April 3 in Minneapolis.
Murdock reported he will be attending a KDHE Financial Assurance Workshop May 7 in Garden City.
