DONALD "DON" D. LEWIS
Donald "Don" D. Lewis, 77, Concordia, died Sept. 2, 2010, at Mount Joseph Senior Village.
He was born Oct. 24, 1932, in Concordia to Raymond Earl and Mabel Mae Moore Lewis. Don attended Nelson Center Grade School and graduated from Concordia High School. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Don Married Darlene Lapo on Feb. 1, 1953, at The Baptist Church, Concordia. Don was a lifetime Cloud County area farmer and resident. He was a member of The Baptist Church and a lifetime member of VFW Post #588.
Survivors include his wife Darlene Lewis of Concordia; three daughters, Kayleen Lewis of Concordia, Kan., Kelly Schulze and husband Steve of Parsons, Kan., and Jennifer Odette and husband Joe of Concordia, Kan.; a sister, Gloria Breault of Hastings, Neb.; three brothers, Glenn Lewis and wife Jane of Wichita, Kan., James Lewis and wife Leslie of Manhattan, Kan., and Robert Lewis and wife Carol of Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren: Cody Odette and Hattie Clark of Concordia, Cyle Odette and fiancée Hannah Coash of Manhattan, Kan., Colton Odette of Concordia, Kan., Spencer Schulze of Parsons, Kan.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donita Lewis; parents; sisters, Norma Lee Istas, Shirley Vincent and Berniece Burt; and brother, Raymond “Junior” Lewis.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel, Concordia, with Pastor Steve Schulze and Pastor Bob Burns officiating and military honors by VFW Post #588 and American Legion Post #76.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Joseph Senior Village or Meadowlark Hospice. It was Don’s wish to be cremated. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, 325 W. 6th St., Concordia.
