F&A moves on, CNB eliminated

One Concordia team advanced, and one was eliminated from the K-18 Baseball East Regional.
F&A Food Sales moved into the semifinals by defeating Ellsworth 12-2 in the opening round Tuesday night at the Concordia Sports Complex.
Citizens National Bank had its season come to an end with a 12-10 loss to Osborne.
In the other first-round games played Tuesday, Belleville downed Russell 6-2 and Beloit beat Washington, 12-3.
All four teams remaining in the tournament have qualified for the state tournament to be played next week in Lucas.
Osborne takes on Belleville in the semifinals at 6:30 Thursday night, and F&A Food Sales will play Beloit at 8:00.
The third-place game will be played at 6:30 Friday night with the championship game scheduled for 8:00.
Trevor Tholstrup doubled home Ian Nordell and Blaze Payeur, and scored on a single by Logan Widen to give F&A Food Sales a 3-0 lead on Ellsworth in the first inning.
F&A Food Sales pushed the lead to 9-0 with six runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Dalton Walters doubled home two runs in the inning.
Payeur had a run-producing ground ball.
Tholstrup scored a run in the bottom of the fourth inning, and F&A Food Sales led 10-0.
Ellsworth picked up its two runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Nordell was hit by a pitch to lead off the bottom of the fifth.
Payeur drew a walk, and both would come around to score to end the game because of the 10-run rule.
Colby Trost  pitched all five innings to get the win. He gave up two runs on just one hit, struck out three and walked one.
Nick Flynn took the loss for Ellsworth.
Walters had two hits and drove in two runs for F&A Food Sales.
Tholstrup knocked in two runs and scored three.
Nordell scored three runs.

Osborne 12,
Citizens National Bank 10
A seventh inning rally fell just short as Citizens National Bank tumbled to Osborne.
Trailing 12-6, Citizens National Bank scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Rope Dorman led off the inning with a walk.
With two out, Billy Bechard, Brent Beaumont and Isaac Meyer singled. All would score in the inning.
Cole Larsen walked and Tyler Stupka reached base on an error.
With runners at first and third, a strikeout ended the game.
Trailing 1-0, Citizens National Bank scored three runs in the top of the second inning.
Stupka singled home a run, and Kyle Bliss drove in a run with a ground ball.
Osborne answered with four runs in the bottom of the second, and led 5-3.
Beaumont walked and scored in the top of the third inning to pull Citizens National Bank within a run, 5-4.
Osborne made it a 9-4 game with four  runs in the bottom of the third.
Scoring three more runs in the fifth inning, Osborne led 12-4.
Stupka drove in two runs with a single in the sixth inning, and Citizens National Bank trailed 12-6.
Stupka had two hits and drove in three runs for Citizens National Bank.
Beaumont had two hits and scored three runs.
Meyer had two hits and scored two runs.

Belleville 6,
Russell 2
Belleville broke a 2-2 tie with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat Russell, 6-2.
Each team scored a run in the first inning.
Belleville went up 2-1 with a run in the fifth inning.
Russell tied the game at 2-2 with a run in the top of the sixth inning.
Taking advantage of a walk and two errors, Belleville scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth, and led 6-2.
Russell was retired in order in the seventh inning.

Beloit 12,
Washington 3
Beloit advanced to the semifinals by rolling past Washington.
The game was tied at 1-1 when Beloit rapped out seven hits and scored six runs in the bottom of the third inning to go on top, 7-1.
Beloit added a run in the fourth inning.
Washington scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning, and trailed 8-3.
Beloit tacked on three runs in the bottom of the fifth and one in the sixth.
