Five members of CHS football team named all-league

Five members of a Concordia High School football team that won a third consecutive Class 4A district championship have been selected to the All-North Central Kansas League team.
Concordia finished the season 8-3, and advanced to the second round of the state playoffs before falling to Buhler.
Gabe Bergmann, a 6-4 tight end/defensive end, was named all-league on both offense and defense.
Offensive linemen Derek Pearson, a 6-0, 245-pound senior, and Skyler Hittle, a 6-1, 210-pound junior, were named to the all-league team on offense.
Brentin Hake, a 6-1, 190-pound senior linebacker, and Trevor Nordell, a 6-2, 190-pound senior defensive back, were all-league selections on defense.
Nordell and Drake Hake received all-league honorable mention on offense.
Hittle, Josh Pounds and Nick Thomas received all-league honorable mention on defense.
Bergmann had four catches for 56 yards on offense. He, Pearson and Hittle were part of an offensive line that led the way for Concordia to rush for 3,658 yards on the season.
Defensively, Bergmann had 76 tackles, nine sacks and recovered four fumbles.
Brentin Hake had a team high 102 tackles, two sacks, three fumbles caused and two fumble recoveries.
Nordell had 52 tackles.
Drake Hake, a 5-6, 160-pound sophomore runningback, led the league with 1089 yards rushing on 133 carries. He averaged 8.27 yards per carry and scored 11 touchdowns.
Nordell carried the ball 143 times for 934 yards and nine touchdowns.
Hittle had 63 tackles and three sacks.
Thomas, a 6-2, 210-pound sophomore linebacker, had 78 tackles.
Pounds, a 5-8, 170-pound senior defensive back, had 27 tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery.
