JV girls come up short

LINDSBORG — Smoky Valley defeated the Concordia junior varsity girls’ basketball team 42-14 on Friday night.
Concordia was scoreless in the first quarter, but gave up just two points.
Smoky Valley outscored the Panthers 13-2 in the second period, and led 15-2 at halftime.
The Vikings tacked on 13 points in the third quarter, and limited Concordia to three points, to make it 28-5.
Smoky Valley scored 14 points in the final period to nine for the Panthers.
Paige Shamburg led Concordia with six points.
Jordynn Gumm and Hunter Mendenhall added three points each.
