The T-Birds led by as many as 25 points, 38-13, in the first 20 minutes, and led 38-16 at halftime.
“I thought, the first half, we played pretty well other than we had some silly turnovers,” Cloud County coach Brett Erkenbrack said, “We passed the ball pretty well and we were pretty active defensively.”
Cloud County hit 16 of 29 field goal attempts for 55 percent in that first half, and made four of nine three-point attempts.
The T-Birds pushed the lead to 31 points, 53-22 in the second half.
Dodge City would outscore Cloud County 23-14 after that.
“I substituted, and we kind of lost our concentration the last 10 minutes,” Erkenbrack said.
Dodge City, after not shooting any free throws in the first half, hit 14 of 17 in the second half.
Pearlrae Thomas led three T-Birds in double figures with 15 points. She was 6 of 11 from the floor and three of four from the line and had seven rebounds.
