Letter to the Editor 2-22-13

Dear Editor,
Two years ago, I became a member of the Cloud County Health Center board and was charged with the responsibility of  making decisions that will affect both the hospital and the community it serves. I have spent a considerable amount of time studying the current facility and thinking about the deficiencies that exist there. My conclusion is that, all things considered, the proposed new facility is the best approach to our community’s health needs. The plan addresses medicine practiced in the 21st century, patient care for the community and a reasonable and fair way to finance the project.
The “value added” potential that this project provides for this community is great. It is just what is needed to allow us to retain and attract excellent health care staff and plants seeds for economic development which could result in increased valuation.
In turn, this could help stabilize or possibly reduce mill levies and help to reverse the exodus of our population. Opportunity would be created right here in Cloud County.
I am asking you to vote on Tuesday, February 26, and join me in voting YES!
Sincerely,
Kurt Kocher
