Letter to the Editor 5-10-13

Dear Editor,
I am writing in response to Susan Sutton’s article in the May 3rd edition of the Blade-Empire.
Ms. Sutton’s supposition is that guns have taken our most talented leaders.
Does she believe that the people who use the firearms hold no blame and it is all about the guns? What has happened to the concept of personal responsibility for one’s actions?
Compared to the 55,000,000 plus babies who have been aborted since 1973, with our government’s blessing, the number of people killed by firearms is miniscule.
Where is the outrage and where are the tears for this mass murder? Who knows what one of those innocent children might have become?
Before you go after my second amendment rights, guaranteed by the Constitution and The Bill of Rights, why don’t you acknowledge that abortion is the largest stain on our country? Where are the articles about this travesty?  I, for one, do not understand why it is okay to kill babies en masse, but feign outrage over the  actions of a few disturbed people. Blaming all gun owners for the despicable actions of a few is shallow and shameful.
                        Respectfully yours,
