Concordia placed third in the junior varsity tennis quadrangular it hosted on Thursday.
Chapman won the meet with 25 points. Ellsworth was second with 15 points. Concordia scored five points, and Clay Center was scoreless.
Ashton Lawrence and Sadie Mosher finished third in number one doubles for Concordia. They lost 6-1 to Brittni Atkinson and Lauren Perry, Chapman and 6-1 to Kylie Van Buren and Kelsea Kraus, Ellsworth, and defeated Lauren Taphorn and Bobbi Rookstool, Clay Center, 6-4.
Allie Redmond and Jenna Fredrickson placed third in number two doubles for the Panthers. They fell 6-1 to Katie Fellman and Natalie Harris, Chapman and 6-0 to Allie Julian and Audra Julian, Ellsworth, and downed Mickayla Standlea and Cursti Sorell, Clay Center, 6-1.
“We saw some really good players today and I think our girls are starting to realize what they need to work on to become more competitive against the best teams,” Concordia coach Steven Mitchell said, “I like the energy and effort our girls are giving.”
