PHYLLIS "VERLETA" VALCOURE
Phyllis "Verleta" Valcoure, age 83, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia. She was born on Nov. 4, 1929, in Dickens, Neb., to Maurice and Verna (Demilt) Fitch. Verleta graduated high school in North Platte, Neb. She married Eugene L. Valcoure on April 27, 1957, in McPherson, Kan. He preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1991. She worked for 26 years as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. Verleta was a member of the Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Maleta Novak of Arvada, Colo., and Linda Mills (Tex) of Concordia; son, Perry Valcoure, Geneva, Neb.; sisters Maurine Miller, North Platte, Neb. and Barbara Baxley,  of Boiling Springs, S.C.; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, parents and brother, Merlin Fitch.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Peter's Cemetery, Aurora.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. with a Vigil service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family suggest memorials to Marquis Place or Cloud County Health Center, in care of the funeral home. For online condolences, please visit www.chaputbuoy.com.
