 LeRoy Workman, age 83, of Concordia, Kan., died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Sunset Home.
LeRoy was born June 23, 1929, to Plesie and Gladys (Goss) Workman at Elk Falls, Kan. He was in the Navy from 1951-1955 during the Korean Conflict. LeRoy married Thelma Starr, Sept. 1, 1957, in Towanda, Kan. She preceded him in death on June 20, 2009.
 After returning from the service, he went to college on the GI Bill and earned an Education degree from Ft. Hays College. He taught business at Bogue and Phillipsburg high schools before coming to Concordia in 1965 to teach at the Concordia High School and the newly formed Cloud County Community College.
LeRoy earned a Master's and Specialist degree in computer programming at Emporia State. In 1974 he became an agent for Farmer's Insurance Group. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, NCK Saddle Club, Lions and Rotary Clubs in Concordia.
 Survivors: Sylvia (Alan) Schmidt, Mount Hope, Kan.; Valorie Starr and husband Daniel Callahan, Sterling, Kan.; three grandchildren: Marshall and Monica Schmidt, Deirdre Callahan; two sisters: Jean Truster, Muskogee, Okla., DeLoma Kay Criggs, Parsons, Kan.; brother, Robert Workman, Muskogee, Okla.
 Besides his wife, he was preceded by his parents and two sisters.
 Visitation is Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, from 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m. at Nutter Mortuary Chapel. Family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Funeral services are Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Concordia, Kan., with Pastor Tessa Zehring officiating. Graveside services will be at Towanda Cemetery, Towanda, Kan., at 4 p.m.
 Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church or Sunset Home. Nutter Mortuary, 116 E. 6th, Concordia, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to
