T-Bird pitchers combine for shutout

Four T-Bird pitchers combined for a five-hit shutout in a 2-0 win over  Doane College JV in the second game of a doubleheader Friday at the Concordia Sports Complex.
Cloud County won the first game 3-1.
The only scoring of game two came in the first inning.
JD Peterson singled with one out and later scored on a groundout by Aaric Woodyard.
Jesse Rall walked and scored on a wild pitch.
Brendan Hardaway pitched three scoreless innings allowing three hits and striking out three.
Mikabe Erdman threw one inning allowing just one hit and striking out one.
Drew Dejmal pitched two innings striking out two and giving up one hit and Rall struck out the side in the final inning.
Cloud County jumped on top 2-0 in game one.
Cal Zagurski led off the second inning with a single and Jackson Cain followed with a walk.
Both scored on two-out errors.
Doane got a run in the top of the fifth but Cloud County answered with a run in the bottom of the inning.
Daniel Schafer walked with one out in the fifth and scored on a double by Zagurski.
Zagurski had two hits for the T-Birds.
Cloud County used four pitchers in the game.
Caleb Blumer started and pitched three scoreless innings; he struck out four and didn't allow a hit.
Trevor Rinne pitched two innings allowing one run on two hits, he struck out one.
Taylor West and Aaric Woodyard combined for the final two innings.
West allowed a hit and struck out two and Woodyard struckout the final batter.
