Tourism grant applications were the main item on the May agenda at the monthly Cloud County Convention and Tourism Committee meeting Tuesday.
Each quarter the Tourism committee distributes $1,750 in event and marketing/development grants based on a set criteria. Six grant applications were received this quarter.
As no applications were received last quarter the committee voted to grant out a total of $3,500 as follows:
Softball for Fireworks, softball tournament to raise money for fireworks, $100; National Orphan Train Complex, printing of rack cards, $500; Concordia American Legion Fireworks July 3rd Fireworks Show, $100; Cruise In, Pig Out BBQ Contest, Chamber fundraiser, $500; Tootlefest, $500; Concordia Chamber of Commerce, downtown speaker/sound system, $1,800.
