Concordia Chevrolet/Buick and 16th Street Car Wash, the two remaining Concordia teams, were knocked out of the Peewee Baseball State Tournament with quarterfinals losses Tuesday night at the Concordia Sports Complex.
Hanover ousted Chevrolet/Buick with an 8-2 defeat.
16th Street Car Wash was beaten 12-1 by the Beloit Mudhens.
In the other two games played Tuesday night, the Beloit Clippers knocked off the Beloit Iron Pigs 10-6 and Smith Center got past the Clyde Blue Jays, 6-2.
Hanover plays the Clippers in the semifinals at 7:00 Thursday night, and Smith Center takes on the Mudhens.
Hanover got out to a 4-0 lead on Chevrolet/Buick in the first inning.
Chevrolet/Buick made it a 4-1 game when Tucker Arnold walked and scored a run in the top of the third inning.
Zach Bruna and Hunter Bruna walked and scored in the bottom of the third, and Hanover led 6-1.
Paul Rundus singled and scored a run in the top of the fourth inning, and Chevrolet/Buick trailed 6-2.
Hanover tacked on two runs in the bottom of the fourth to up the lead to 8-2.
Thomas Atkins pitched three and two-thirds innings for Hanover, and Daiken Stallbaumer worked the final inning and a third.
Tryston Jochems pitched two and two-thirds innings for Chevrolet/Buick, and Rundus finished up.
Atkins had two hits and scored two runs for Hanover.
Beloit Mudhens 16,
16th Street Car Wash 1
Hudson Smith gave up just one run on four hits as the Mudhens rolled past 16th Street Car Wash.
Smith struck out five and didn’t walk any in the game.
Rustyn Kindel led off the top of the first inning and came around to score to give 16th Street Car Wash a 1-0 lead.
The Mudhens put up six runs in the bottom of the first.
Sending 11 batters to the plate, the Mudhens scored six more runs in the second inning to make it a 12-1 game.
The game ended after the top of the third inning.
Oakley Champlin started on the mound for 16th Street Car Wash. Ivon Owen and Kindel pitched in relief.
Beloit Clippers 10,
Beloit Iron Pigs 6
Putting up 10 runs in the first three innings, the Clippers beat the Iron Pigs in the battle of Beloit teams.
The Clippers had a 4-2 lead after one inning of play.
The Iron Pigs tied the game at 4-4 with two runs in the top of the second inning.
The Clippers answered with three runs in the bottom of the second, and then scored three more runs in the third to go up 10-4.
The Iron Pigs scored two runs in the fourth inning.
Braxten Eilert was the winning pitcher for the Clippers.
Smith Center 6,
Clyde Blue Jays 2
Smith Center moved into the semifinals by eliminating Clyde, 6-2.
Two runs in the first inning and three in the top of the third gave Smith Center a 5-0 lead.
Smith Center pushed across one run in the top of the fifth inning to go on top 6-1.
Gavin Cyr hit a solo home run for Clyde in the bottom of the fifth.
Ethan Peterson pitched the first two innings for Smith Center, and Trenton Colby worked the final three innings.
Dyelon Reed started for Clyde, and Cyr finished up.
