Abilene hands Panthers defeat
Abilene handed the Concordia eighth grade boys’ basketball team a 49-24 defeat on Thursday.
Concordia trailed 11-4 after one quarter of play.
The Panthers scored eight points in the second stanza, to seven for Abilene, to make it an 18-12 game at halftime.
Abilene tossed in 16 points in the third quarter, and gave up six, to go up 34-18.
Concordia was outscored 15-6 in the final period.
Ian Nordell scored 10 points for Concordia. Brennen Acree had five points.
The Conordia B-team was beaten 41-7 by Abilene.
Abilene had a 22-0 lead at halftime, and scored 19 points in the second half to seven for Concordia.
Karl Tyler, Paul Frost and Baley Kindel scored two points each for Concordia.
