CCCC track team competes at Iowa State
AMES, Iowa — The Cloud County Community College men’s track and field team had six individuals and one relay team record top seven finishes in the Iowa State University Open on Saturday.
Wayne Northover finished second in the triple jump for the Thunderbirds with a leap of 46-11.
Josh Charles ran 48.33, and placed third in the 400-meter dash.
Cloud County’s 4x400 relay team of Charles, Denray Ottey, Denroy Ottey and Sanjer Pantry finished third in 3:18.77.
David Hall was fourth in the high jump by clearing 6-6.
George Gathuru placed fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:59.20.
Pantry finished seventh in the 800 in 1:57.28.
The Cloud County women had Chioma Agwunobi finish fourth in the long jump with a leap of 17-5 1/2. Tameca Wallace went 17-1/2 to place seventh.
Vanessa Resh was seventh in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:36.69.
Cloud County’s 4x400 relay team of Agwunobi, Roxanne Tyrell, Brenda Barnett and Kendra Zabokrtsky finished seventh in 4:00.55, and qualified for the NJCAA Indoor Championships.
Tyrell qualified for nationals in the 600-yard run with a time of 1:29.29.
