CJHS wrestlers split duals
MARYSVILLE — The Concordia Junior High School wrestling split a pair of duals on Tuesday.
Concordia lost 52-39 to Marysville.
The Panthers defeated Wamego, 55-42.
Alec Ngo, 75 pounds; Blake Leiszler, 80 pounds; Kyler Caspers, 85 pounds; Zach Strait, 90 pounds; Cole Larsen, 105 pounds; Rope Dorman, 120 pounds; Tracer Workman, 127 pounds; and Blaze Payeur, 141 pounds, were 2-0 on the night for Concordia.
Peyton Reed, 155 pounds, went 1-1 for the Panthers.
Isai Duenas, 265 pounds, was 1-0.
Russell VandenBroeder, 265, was 0-1.
Billy Bechard, 110 pounds; Nathan Robinson, 115 pounds; Braden Brownell, 134 pounds; and Jacob Palmquist, 148 pounds, were 0-2.
“We were a little flat against Marysville, but came out and wrestled tougher against Wamego,” Concordia coach Doug Moore said, “I am still looking for improvement on our feet. We have got to be able to shoot takedowns and take advantage of our opponents position in neutral position.”
In junior varsity matches, Concordia’s Shylan Koch, 80 pounds; Davin Strait, 105 pounds; and Keaton Rudolph, 115 pounds, were 1-1.
Duenas and VandenBroeder were each 0-1.
Trent Aurand, 155 pounds, was 0-2.
