CJHS wrestlers wrap up season with two wins

SALINA — The Concordia Junior High School wrestling team wrapped up its regular season by winning a pair of duals on Tuesday night.
Concordia defeated Salina South 69-35, and beat McPherson, 73-27.
Nine Concordia wrestlers won both matches on the night including Alec Ngo, Blake Leiszler, Zach Strait, Rope Dorman, Tracer Workman, Blaze Payeur, Jacob Palmquist, Brent Beaumont and Isai Duenas.
Kyler Caspers, Cole Larsen, Nathan Robinson, Braden Brownell, Payten Reed and Baley Kindel were 1-1.
“We came out and wrestled very aggressively both matches. We looked much better on our feet, and really worked for the fall on top,” Concordia coach Doug Moore said, “Overall, we were 27-9 as a team. This was a good tuneup for the upcoming League tournament on Saturday. Hopefully our success tonight can carry over to this weekend.”The Panthers will compete in the North Central Kansas League tournament in Chapman.
In junior varsity matches on Tuesday, Billy Bechard was 2-0 for the Panthers.
Shylan Koch was 1-1. Keaton Rudolph and Russell VandenBroeder were 0-1.
