Concordia Kids Wrestling Club has 15 qualify for state tourney
MCPHERSON — The Concordia Kids Wrestling Club had 15 competitors place in the top four at the USA Wrestling Kansas district tournament this past weekend.
By placing in the top four, the wrestlers qualify for the USA Wrestling Kansas State Folkstyle Championships on March 29-30 at the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka.
The Concordia club had five wrestlers capture district championships including Sajen Kemling, 52 pounds, 10-and-under; Hunter Schroeder, 95 pounds, 10-and-under; Wyatt Trost, 105 pounds, 12-and-under; Blake Leiszler, 80 pounds, 14-and-under; and Zachary Strait, 100 pounds, 14-and-under.
Kameron Knox, 80 pounds, 8-and-under, and Alec Ngo, 75 pounds, 14-and-under, placed second.
Third-place finishers include:
Kale Schroeder, 46 pounds, 8-and-under; Kameron Knox, 80 pounds, 8-and-under; Phoenix Vansant, 90 pounds, 10-and-under; Keyan Miller, 90 pounds, 10-and-under; Shelby Giersch, 110 pounds, 10-and-under; and Tracer Workman, 145 pounds, 14-and-under.
Fourth-place finishers include Carter Eakins, 52 pounds, 8-and-under and Stryker Hake, 88 pounds, 8-and-under.
Dylan Thoman, 79 pounds, 10-and-under, and Brent Beaumont, 205 pounds, 14-and-under, placed fifth.
Jayden Christianson, 70 pounds, 10-and-under, and Caden Womack, 85 pounds, 10-and-under, placed sixth.
