Eighth grade boys fall
Beloit handed the Concordia eighth grade boys' basketball team a 42-30 home loss on Monday.
Concordia trailed Beloit 6-2 at the end of the first quarter in its season opener.
Each team scored nine points in the second period, and Beloit led 15-11 at halftime.
Beloit poured in 17 points in the third quarter, to five for the Panthers, to make it 32-16.
Concordia added 14 points in the final period, and Beloit scored 10.
Billy Bechard paced the Panthers with 11 points. Garrett Lawrence added 10 points.
The Concordia B-team downed Beloit, 28-23.
Concordia trailed 11-10 at halftime.
The Panthers pumped in 18 points in the second half, and limited Beloit to 12 points.
Isaac Mehl led Concordia with 10 points. Torin Fellows added six points.
