Eighth grade loses at Clay Center
CLAY CENTER — The Concordia eighth grade boys’ basketball team was beaten 53-38 by Clay Center on Thursday night.
Concordia trailed 15-10 after one quarter of play.
Clay Center outscored the Panthers 14-5 in the second period to go up 29-15 at halftime.
Concordia scored eight points in the third quarter, and Clay Center scored 11 to make it 40-23.
The Panthers pumped in 15 points in the final period, to 13 for Clay Center.
Ian Nordell led Concordia with 17 points.
Matthew James scored nine points for the Panthers.
The Concordia B-team was beaten 45-10 by Clay Center.
Clay Center had a 23-6 halftime lead, and scored 22 points in the second half to four for the Panthers.
Jonas Sallman scored five points for Concordia.
