Fabarez wins Beloit Invitational

BELOIT — Concordia’s Micah Fabarez earned medalist honors, and teamed with Christian Wetter to place second in the two-man division of the Beloit Invitational golf tournament Friday at Beloit Country Club.
Fabarez shot an 80 to win the individual title.
Wetter carded a 98 to give Concordia a two-man score of 178.
Southeast of Saline won the two-man with a 177. Dan Frost shot 82 and Sam Frosh had a 95.
Ellsworth was third in the two-man with a 189.
Concordia, playing without three varsity regulars, finished ninth in the four-man and sixth in the six-man.
The Panthers shot 473 in the four-man and 651 in the six-man.
Smith Center won the four-man with a 391. Beloit was second with a 393 and Republic County was third with a 418.
Southeast of Saline finished first in the six-man with a 605. Smith Center was second with 627 and Republic County was third with 633.
James McCabe led the Concordia four-man with a 100. Logan Widen shot a 107. Clay Boley had a 124 and Gage Canfield shot 142.
Concordia will host its invitational on Monday.
