Holmes leads NCK team to Shootout win

SMITH CENTER — Concordia's Grant Holmes scored 32 points to lead the North Central Kansas team to a 102-99 overtime win over the Mid-Continent League team in the Fourth Annual Sunflower Shootout all-star basketball game on Sunday.
The 32 points by Holmes, a 6-4 guard, set a new scoring record for the North Central Kansas team.
North Central Kansas trailed the Mid-Continent League 48-47 at halftime.
The game was tied at 95-95 at the end of regulation.
North Central Kansas outscored the Mid-Continent League 7-4 in the overtime to get the win, and set the game record for most points.
Tristan Schwarz, Golden Plains, scored 18 points for North Central Kansas. Payton Vetter, Beloit, added 14 points.

The North Central Kansas team broke the game scoring record by rolling past the Mid-Continent League, 111-66.
Concordia's Megan James scored nine points for North Central Kansas.
Jessica Prince, Osborne, led North Central Kansas with 21 points. Kellen Niewald, St. John's-Beloit/Tipton scored 14 points, and Courtney Freed, Pike Valley, added 13 points.
Michael Wahlmeier, Concordia, was one of the coaches for North Central Kansas.
