Holmes signs with Fort Hays State

 Concordia High School senior Grant Holmes, a three-time All-North Central Kansas League selection, signed to play basketball at Fort Hays State University on Wednesday.
Holmes ranks third all-time in scoring for Concordia with 1,000 points. He ranked second in the NCKL in scoring his senior year (15.7), and averaged 6.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.4 steals for a team that finished 15-7. He was named second team Class 4A All-State.
A 6-4 guard, Holmes led the League in scoring (18.0) as a junior, and averaged 5.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.7 steals per contest. He was a unanimous all-league selection, and received all-state recognition.
Holmes averaged 13.4 points per game his freshman year to rank second in the NCKL. He shot a league-best 45.6 percent from three-point range on his way to earning all-league honors.
