JV boys fall to Phillipsburg
Outscored 19-14 in the final quarter, the Concordia junior varsity boys’ basketball team suffered a 61-57 loss to Phillipsburg Tuesday night in the Concordia High School gymnasium.
Concordia led the game 43-42 heading into that final period, but Phillipsburg rallied for the win.
Zach Hibbs scored 19 points for Concordia. Kaleb Pounds finished with 11 points. Christian Wetter and Gilberth Garcia added six points each.
Concordia doubled up Phillipsburg 20-10 in the first quarter.
Phillipsburg tossed in 18 points in the second period to 12 for Concordia to make it 32-28 at halftime.
Scoring 14 points in the third quarter, and giving up 11, Phillipsburg got within a point, 43-42.
Phillipsburg then used the big fourth period to capture the victory.
