JV softball gets one win
The Concordia junior varsity softball team split a doubleheader with Sacred Heart at the Concordia Sports Complex last night.
The Panthers won game one 7-5 and lost the nightcap 7-6.
Concordia fell behind early, giving up four runs in the first inning.
The Panthers answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the first and scored three more in the second to tie the game.
A three-run third gave the Panthers a 7-4 lead.
The Knights got one in the fifth for the 7-5 final.
Caley Martin got the win and had a double in the game.
Olivia Nelson scored two runs.
Concordia scored twice in the bottom of the first to take a 2-0 lead in game two.
The Panthers added two in the second to lead 4-0.
Sacred Heart got four in the third and one in the fourth to lead 5-4.
Concordia scored twice in the fourth but gave up two in the fifth for the 7-6 final.
Martin pitched all five innings.
Brianna Sjogren scored two runs for the Panthers.
