JV tennis team places fourth

ABILENE — The Concordia junior varsity tennis team placed fourth in the Abilene Invitational on Monday.
Concordia scored 28 points in the tournament.
Chapman claimed the team title with 54 points. Abilene was second with 38 and Sacred Heart was third with 36.
Ashton Lawrence and Marissa Morgan finished third in number one doubles for Concordia.
Allie Redmond and Sadie Mosher were fourth in number two doubles.
Jenna Fredrickson placed fifth in number two singles, and Autumn Zimmerman was sixth in number one singles.
Lawrence and Morgan were beaten 6-5 (7-3) by Brittni Atkinson and Delaney Claeys, Chapman, and 6-3 by Kylie Vanburen and Kelsea Kraus, Ellsworth. They beat Sandra Easley and Chardey Long, Abilene, 6-4 and Baylee Brundmohl and Anna Johnson, Junction City, 6-4.
Redmond and Mosher fell 6-4 to Kati Fehlman and Natalie Harris, 6-4. They defeated Audra Julian and Allie Julian, Ellsworth, 6-2 and Olivia Baugh and Hulle Warren, Abilene, 6-3 before losing 6-5, (7-2) to Cheyenne Cody and Madison Riffel, Abilene, 6-5 (7-2).
Fredrickson lost 6-1 to Abby Chewning, Chapman, and 6-1 to Aubrey Hawks, Ellsworth. She downed Kasidy Bera, Abilene, 6-2.
Zimmerman was beaten 6-4 by Lauren Perry, Chapman, and 6-5 (7-1) by Jessie Graves, Ellsworth. She shut out Miranda Harwood, Abilene, and lost 6-1 to Autumn Deivtiam, Sacred Heart.
