Keter wins Emporia State meet

EMPORIA — Cloud County Community College freshman Benard Keter captured a first-place finish in the Emporia State University Invitational cross country meet Friday at Jones Park.
Keter turned in a winning time of 25:43.11.
Cloud County placed 14th as a team with 372 points.
Fort Hays State University won the team title with 66 points. The University of Saint Mary was second with 84 points and Newman University was third with 115.
The Cloud County women also placed 14th as a team with 407 points.
Baker University won the meet with 60 points. Fort Hays State was second with 68 and Benedictine College was third with 87.
The Cloud County men had Quinton Isaacson finish 105th in 30:32.73.
Hunter Hosler ran 30:55.49 to place 116th.
Shilo Goracke placed 123rd in 31:22.32.
Benjamin Fairweather was 153rd in 35:15.06.
The Cloud County women were led by Katie Lambert, a freshman from Concordia, who placed 48th in 21:28.83.
Kendra Alcorn finished 119th with a time of 24:20.08.
Valentine Kitur placed 134th in 25:26.32.
Allyne Purdy was 147th in 27:53.78.
Brianna Wickersham finished 152nd in 29:40.05.
Lauren Jaqua, Baker University, won the race in 19:08.55.
