Seventh grade girls third at NCKL meet
MARYSVILLE — Picking up wins in five events, the Concordia seventh grade girls’ track and field team placed third in the North Central Kansas League meet on Thursday.
Concordia scored 104 points in the meet.
Marysville won the team title with 133 points. Wamego finished second with 119.5.
The Concordia eighth grade girls finished fourth in the meet with 75 points.
Clay Center placed first with 155 points. Wamego was second with 127 and Abilene was third with 101.5.
The Concordia eighth grade boys scored 59 points, and placed fifth.
Clay Center won the meet with 154.5 points. Wamego was second with 122 and Abilene was third with 117.
The Concordia seventh grade boys also placed fifth with 56 points.
Marysville captured the team tittle with 134 points. Clay Center was second with 108 and Chapman was third with 106.
Concordia had three individual champions in the seventh grade girls’ division.
Nicole Timme ran 6:00.73 to win the 1,600. Roylynn Madden was third (6:14.15) and Britney Gilkeson was fourth (6:26.53).
Timme also finished second in the 800 (2:43.13) and Peyton Reynolds was third (2:50.04).
Jessica Williams won the pole vault for the Panthers by clearing 9-0. She also placed second in the high jump (4-8).
Cydney Bergmann placed first in the long jump with a leap of 14-1/4. She was second in the 75-meter hurdles (12.93) and Laken Schroeder was fifth (14.88).
Concordia got first-place finishes by its 4x400 relay team in 4:44.13 and 800 sprint medley relay team in 2:16.81.
The Panthers’ 4x100 relay team placed second (58.69). The 4x200 team was fifth (2:11.86).
Sierra Wright placed fifth in the 100 (15.10).
The Concordia eighth grade girls got a first-place finish by Mariah Blazek in the 400 dash with a time of 1:07.35. Jordan Eshbaugh placed fifth (1:11.92).
Blazek was also third in the 800 (2:49.93).
Mallory Thompson placed second in the 1,600 (6:32.54) and third in the 3,200 (14:18.15).
Zoe Brichalli finished second in the high jump (4-6) and third in the 75 hurdles (14.36).
Hadley Thyfault placed fourth in both the triple jump (29-5 1/2) and the 200 (30.74).
Alex Wilcox finished fourth in the shot put (31-7) and Kora Snavely was fifth (29-11 3/4).
Concordia’s 4x100 (58.93) and 4x400 (5:04.62) relay teams placed fourth.
The Panthers were fifth in the 4x200 (2:13.73) and the 800 sprint medley (2:22.94).
Eshbaugh placed fifth in the javelin (74-5).
The Concordia eighth grade boys had Blaze Payeur win three events.
Payeur was first in the 400 in 55.50, the pole vault by clearing 10-0 and the triple jump with a best of 35-10. He was also second in the 200 (25.36).
Devin Kymer placed third in the 3,200 (12:03.06) and fifth in the 1,600 (5:36.69).
Jacob Palmquist finished fourth in the javelin (112-3).
Concordia’s 800 sprint medley relay team finished fourth (2:06.82). the 4x100 squad was fifth (53.74).
Cole Larson placed fifth in the 800 (2:31.97).
Ian Nordell was sixth in the triple jump (31-5 1/2).
The Concordia seventh grade boys got a first-place finish in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:29.03.
Rope Dorman placed second in the 200 (27.97) and the pole vault (10-0).
Tyler Stupka finished second in the 75 hurdles (12.69) and third in the pole vault (8-6).
Billy Bechard was fourth in the pole vault (8-6).
Brent Beaumont placed fourth in the discus (79-11).
Concordia’s 4x100 relay team finished fourth (57.03). The 800 sprint medley team was sixth (2:17.02).
