Seventh grade loses to Clay Center

The Concordia seventh grade boys’ basketball team suffered a 40-16 loss to Clay Center in the final game of the regular season Thursday night in the Concordia Junior-Senior High School gymnasium.
Clay Center got out to a 15-3 lead in the game.
Concordia was outscored 6-4 in the second period, and trailed 21-7 at halftime.
The Panthers scored nine points in the third quarter, and gave up just seven, to make it 28-16.
Concordia then went scoreless in the fourth period, and Clay Center scored 12 points.
Matthew James had seven points for the Panthers. Ian Nordell finished with six points.
Concordia will play Marysville in the opening round of the North Central Kansas League Tournament at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Clay Center.
