Thunderbirds split with ranked foes
— The Cloud County Com- munity men’s soccer team split a pair of matches against ranked opponents last week.

Cloud County was beaten 1-0 by sixth-ranked Iowa Western on Thursday.
Christopher Lavery scored on a deflected pass in the 53rd minute to give Cloud County the win.
Iowa Western scored the lone goal with 1:04 to play in the match.
The T -Birds had 19 shots, four on goal. Mar- shalltown finished with 18 shots, four on goal.
The Thunderbirds, now 2-1 on the season, slipped
Juan Mendoza was in goal for Cloud County, and had four saves.
