Cloud County records first COVID-19 related death

Cloud County has recorded its first COVID-19 related death.

Cloud County Health Department officials announced on Saturday that a woman over the age of 80, with underlying health conditions, passed away at her residence.

Test results confirmed on Thursday that the woman had contracted COVID-19. She has been in isolation at home.

Health Department administrator Brandi Bray said that this is not the time for Cloud County residents to let their guard down.

To help stop the spread of COVID-19, Bray encourages people to limit public gatherings to 25 people or less, wear a mask in public, social distance, stay home when possible, cover all coughs and sneezes and wash your hands for 15-20 seconds with soap and water.

There are currently three active COVID-19 cases in Cloud County.

The Health Department continues to investigate all confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county and is monitoring people who have been in close contact with those cases.
